AMWA jointly authored this submission on the Inclusive Communities Fund with the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Alliance, the National Rural Women’s Coalition, the Working with Women Alliance and Women With Disabilities Australia.

The submission calls on the Australian Government to scale nationally the Disability and Gender Leadership program and Local Leadership Hubs model, a proven disability-led and peer-led approach to building leadership, rights knowledge and community connection, at an estimated cost of $3.57 million.

It also raises concerns about the relationship between the Fund and proposed changes to NDIS Social, Civic and Community Participation and Capacity Building Daily Activity supports, urging the Government to ensure the Fund remains additional to individualised NDIS supports rather than a substitute for them.
