Policy date: November 2025
This joint submission from the Australian Multicultural Women’s Alliance (AMWA) and the Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative responds to the AIHW’s draft Sexual and Reproductive Health Monitoring Framework and Data Strategy. It outlines the urgent need for culturally responsive, intersectional data and policy to ensure multicultural, migrant and refugee women are visible in national sexual and reproductive health systems.
Drawing on AMWA’s national consultations and survey findings, the submission recommends strengthened multicultural data standards, culturally safe data collection, lived-experience governance, and investment in community-led implementation to build a fair, inclusive and equitable SRH system for all.
