AMWA is a member of the National Advocacy Group on Women on Temporary Visas Experiencing Violence (NAG), a coalition of over 30 state and national peak bodies, service providers and individuals. This third Blueprint for Reform sets out five key asks to ensure temporary visa holders experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence can access safety and justice: reforming the migration system, addressing economic insecurity, ensuring equal access to housing, securing long-term funding for legal and specialist services, and establishing formal intergovernmental collaboration.

It calls for a new dedicated visa for victim-survivors who cannot rely on existing family violence provisions, expanded access to social security and Medicare, and stronger safeguards against systems abuse by perpetrators, reinforcing AMWA’s ongoing advocacy that migration status should never be a barrier to safety.
