This budget response sets out AMWA’s analysis of the 2026–27 Federal Budget through a multicultural women’s lens. It welcomes key investments in women’s health, safety, care and skills recognition, while highlighting major gaps for migrant, refugee and multicultural women across housing, NDIS reforms, temporary visa protections, cost of living, racism, and culturally responsive service delivery.

The response calls for intersectional policy design, anti-racist implementation, disaggregated data, and sustained investment in community-led solutions to ensure budget measures reach the women most at risk of being left behind.
